For those interested in traveling to Paris, the Eurostar train services from King’s Cross station in London to Gare du Nord station in Paris is the most economical option. The train, or Chunnel as it is often called, travels between London and Paris in about 2.5 hours. The trip goes in a tunnel under the English Channel. Tickets can be booked through Eurostar’s
web page. Booking well in advance is highly recommended, as prices go up closer to the date of travel. It is much cheaper to travel via Chunnel on weekdays as opposed to weekends or other peak dates. The King’s Cross station is easily accessible from International Hall by either foot or by taking the Picadilly line one stop. One word of warning about the Eurostar option, the excessive speed of the train and constant passing in and out of tunnels will make your ears pop many times. This trip is not recommended for those with sensitive ears. Overall, the speed and ease of this trip make it a perfect get away, and the prices are cheaper than comparative flights. The Chunnel makes Paris one of the easiest locations to visit while studying in London.
