Ye Old Mitre

Ye Old Mitre is a historical pub in the Holborn district of London. Found by taking the Picadilly line to Chancery station, this pub is a unique attraction due to its age. A placard over the door gives some history: The pub has existed since 1546. They serves beer, wine, cider and a limited collection of hard alcohol. They also serve many cheap food options, including some traditional UK dishes like a scotch egg. The lower level is quite crammed, but upstairs offers extensive seating.

The real draw of the pub however, is its history. A book upstairs details the past of this place, including pictures from over the years. The bartenders are friendly, outgoing, and happy to talk with any visitors about the extensive history of the location. Ye Old Mitre is somewhat hard to find, tucked away in a back alley, however it is worth the search. The upstairs area boasts seating for large groups, and it makes a great sightseeing destination for those who want to avoid the typical tourists spots.
