The London Pub
The London Pub is one of the nearest to International Hall. Fashioned after a traditional British style of pub, the interior contains seating on both stools at bar top, and booth style seating for up to 15 in certain areas. Along with indoor seating, the pub also contains 8 picnic style tables in a back porch smoking area. Offered at the London Pub is a basic selection of spirits and juices, as well as an extensive collection of beers, wines and ciders. The convenient location of the pub, near to both International Hall and a large hotel, makes it a popular watering hole for tourists to the city. The crowd there is often younger, including Americans, Australians and a few smaller groups of local Londoners, as well a visitors from other parts of the world. The bartenders at the pub tend to be very busy and seem to have little patience for the large number of tourists unfamiliar with local currency and customs. Despite the lackluster service, the pub offers a wide selection of well prepared classic London dishes, including the ever popular fish and chips. The London pub is a great place to visit if you are looking to socialize with other out of towners and sample the local cuisine, provided that you have a thick skin for rude treatment by the bartenders. The mellow atmosphere of the bar provides the opportunity to sit and converse, although it can be difficult to find seating for larger groups during peak hours.
