The Neon Sign at KOKO |
Koko is a large night club offering live music, dancing and an excellent opportunity to interact with both locals and foreigners alike. The club can be reached by walking, but it’s most easily accessible by taking the tube from Russel Square to the Mornington Crescent station via the Piccadilly and Northern Lines. After exiting the station, the nightclub is easy to find, identifiable immediately by its neon pink sign and large size. Although Koko charges an entry fee, Friday nights are students nights and the cover charge is only 4 pounds. Once inside, the club offers multiple drink specials throughout the night, the best of which typically occur before 11:30pm. Boasting a huge dance floor, large selection of local and American talent, 7 separate levels and a large outdoor smoking garden, Koko makes a great destination for a wild night out! Although it may be quite empty earlier in the evening during the drink specials, by around midnight the club is full of people. There is ample seating in the upper levels on comfortable couches, concrete benches on the smoking porch, and booth style tables. The service is fast, friendly and knowledgeable about drink preparation and mixology. They offer a huge variety of beer, liquor and cocktails as well as a basic collection of wines.

The club is open until 4:00am, and remains relatively packed until that time. A good fact to remember is that the tube stops running at midnight, so if you stay until closing time you’ll have to a catch a night bus or walk home. Overall, Koko is a great location if you feel like dancing, talking to people from around the world, and staying out late for a high energy night.
